Delphine Maire

Delphine Maire is an independent funeral celebrant and works under the name «D'une rive à l'autre». She designs and leads farewell ceremonies whose outlines are defined by the relatives according to their culture, their beliefs and their convictions. In particular she offers secular civil ceremonies and universal spiritual ceremonies. After an initial contact by telephone she meets the family for a preparatory conversation of at least two hours. From the information, wishes and anecdotes gathered she writes a tailor-made ceremony, which she conducts on the day. It is built around a tribute to the deceased person and a moment of separation, which can take the form of symbolic acts, rituals, poems or songs. She seeks a balance between the needs of the living and the wishes of the deceased person.
