Code of Honour

People entrust us with their most important and most vulnerable moments: the farewell to a loved one, the wedding vow, the start of a new life. That trust is the foundation of our work. Anyone who joins this directory commits to the following principles.

  1. Dignity and equal treatment

We accompany every person with the same respect, regardless of origin, religion, worldview, sexual orientation, gender or family form. No one is turned away or treated differently for not fitting a particular image.

  2. Confidentiality

What is entrusted to us in preparation, personal stories, family circumstances, grief, we treat confidentially and do not pass on without consent.

  3. The person at the centre

The ceremony belongs to the people who commission it, not to us. We set our own worldview aside, impose no convictions on anyone and do not use the ceremony to promote ourselves.

  4. Honest information

We represent our training, experience and offering truthfully, in the profile as in conversation. We do not adorn ourselves with qualifications we do not hold.

  5. Reliability

What we promise, we keep. If we are prevented, we give notice as early as possible and help find a replacement. For a funeral in particular, every day counts.

  6. Fair and transparent prices

We state our costs clearly and in full before any commitment. There are no hidden surcharges and no later surprises.

  7. No exploitation

We do not take advantage of the emotional state of those grieving or celebrating. We put no one under pressure and force no add-on services.

  8. Care and individuality

We prepare every ceremony personally and individually, in conversation with those involved. We do not deliver an off-the-shelf speech.

  9. Acknowledging limits

Where a situation exceeds what we can offer, such as acute mental distress, we gently refer to people trained for it.

  10. Clarity on the legal side

For civil wedding ceremonies we make clear that the ceremony does not replace the legal marriage at the civil registry office.

  11. A truthful profile

Our directory details, languages, offering and region, match reality, and we keep them up to date.

  12. Answering enquiries

We answer enquiries within a reasonable time, even when we have to decline.

By joining the directory we confirm that we have read this code of honour and commit to upholding it. In the event of serious or repeated breaches, the operator may remove an entry from the directory.
